Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies are, how TrustWatt uses them, and how you can control them.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit websites. They help websites remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and improve your experience.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels (small images that track activity).
2. Cookie Categories
We group cookies into four categories:
Strictly Necessary
Essential for the website to function. Without these, you couldn't log in or use core features. We don't need your consent for these cookies.
Analytics
Help us understand how people use TrustWatt — which pages are popular, where users drop off, how long people spend on the site. This helps us improve. We only set these if you consent.
Marketing
Used to deliver relevant ads and measure their effectiveness. These may track your activity across different websites. We only set these if you consent.
Functional
Remember your preferences (like theme or recently viewed items) to personalise your experience. We only set these if you consent.
3. Your Consent Choices
When you first visit TrustWatt, you'll see a cookie banner asking for your preferences. You can:
- Accept all — Allow all cookies
- Reject non-essential — Only allow strictly necessary cookies
- Manage preferences — Choose which categories to allow
You can change your preferences at any time using the button above or the "Cookie Settings" link in our footer.
How we store your consent:
- • Timestamp: When you gave consent
- • Categories: Which cookie categories you allowed
- • Policy version: The version of this policy at time of consent
This helps us demonstrate compliance and ensures we respect your choices.

5. No Tracking Without Consent
We do not load analytics, marketing, or functional cookies until you give consent.
This means:
- Google Analytics scripts are not loaded if you haven't consented to Analytics
- Meta Pixel and LinkedIn tags are not loaded if you haven't consented to Marketing
- Functional cookies (like theme preference) are not set without Functional consent
Only strictly necessary cookies (authentication, security, this consent choice itself) are set without asking.
6. Browser Controls
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can:
- Block all cookies
- Delete existing cookies
- Allow cookies from specific sites only
Note that blocking all cookies may affect how TrustWatt works. For example, you may not be able to stay logged in.
