    Referral & Quote Terms

This page explains what happens when you request quotes or share your details with our partner installers, manufacturers, or leasing companies.

    1. Our Role — TrustWatt is an Introducer

    What "introducer" means

We connect you with partners. We don't install chargers, sell products, or provide leasing services ourselves.

Any contract is between you and the partner. When you accept a quote or buy a product, that's a contract with the partner business, not with TrustWatt.

    We are not responsible for:

    • The accuracy of quotes or pricing
    • Product quality, availability, or specifications
    • Installation workmanship or warranties
    • Partner customer service or disputes
    • Delivery times or scheduling

    What we do:

    • Verify basic business credentials before listing partners
    • Collect and display genuine customer reviews
    • Provide a secure way to share your details
    • Remove partners who receive consistent poor feedback

    2. When We Share Your Details

We only share your details with partners when you take an explicit action, such as:

    • Clicking "Get quote" or "Request callback"
    • Clicking "Share details" with a specific partner
    • Completing a quote request form
    • Opting in to be contacted by partners

We don't share your details for marketing without your consent.

    3. What We Share

When you request a quote or share details, we may provide the partner with:

    • Your name and contact details (email, phone if provided)
    • Postcode area (for service availability)
    • Vehicle and charger information (make, model, preferences)
    • Installation requirements (property type, parking situation)
    • Review context (if relevant to your enquiry)

The exact data shared depends on what you've provided and the nature of your request. See our Privacy Notice for full details.

    4. Partner Responsibility

    Important:

Once we share your details with a partner, they become their own data controller. Their privacy policy applies to how they handle your data from that point.

    Partners are responsible for:

    • Pricing, availability, and accuracy of quotes
    • Quality of products and services
    • Installation work and warranties
    • Customer service and support
    • How they use your data after we share it

    5. No Guarantees

    TrustWatt does not guarantee that:

    • • You will receive quotes from partners
    • • Quotes will meet your expectations or budget
    • • Partners will be available in your area
    • • Any specific partner will respond
    • • Prices shown are final (surveys may reveal additional costs)
    • • Timescales quoted will be met
    • • Products will be in stock

We connect you with partners based on the information you provide, but availability, response times, and final pricing are outside our control.

    6. Commercial Relationships

    Transparency about referral fees

In some cases, TrustWatt may receive a referral fee when you connect with a partner or complete a transaction. This does not affect the price you pay unless we explicitly state otherwise.

Our partner recommendations are based on factors like reviews, ratings, and service coverage. Commercial relationships don't affect review scores.

    7. Stopping Partner Contact

If you no longer want a partner to contact you:

    • Contact the partner directly — They're the data controller for communications they send
    • Look for unsubscribe links in their emails
    • Request they delete your data under your GDPR rights

If you're having trouble stopping contact and believe the partner is breaching data protection rules, you can report them to the Information Commissioner's Office.

    8. Disputes with Partners

If you have a dispute with a partner about their products, services, or quotes:

    1. Try to resolve it directly with the partner first
    2. Check if they're a member of any industry ombudsman or dispute resolution scheme
    3. Consider alternative dispute resolution or small claims court if needed

TrustWatt can't resolve disputes between you and partners, but we may take action if a partner consistently receives complaints (like removing them from our platform).

    9. Changes and Versioning

    How we handle changes:

    • • We'll update the "Last updated" date and version number
    • • For significant changes, we'll notify you before requesting quotes
    • • Previous versions available on request

    10. Contact

    Version note:

Current version: 1.1. If we make big changes, we'll post an update here and may notify you in-app.
