TrustWatt helps EV drivers share real-world experiences and helps other drivers choose with confidence. These terms explain the rules for using our website and app.

2. Using TrustWatt
TrustWatt provides:
- Reviews — A platform for EV drivers to share experiences about their electric vehicles, home chargers, and installation services
- Discovery — Tools to browse EVs, chargers, and installers based on real driver feedback
- Matching — Features to help drivers find chargers and installers that suit their needs
- Referrals — Ways to connect with trusted partners for quotes and services
By using TrustWatt, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our platform.
3. Your Account
To use certain features, you'll need to create an account. When you do:
- You must be at least 16 years old
- You must provide accurate information
- You're responsible for keeping your login details secure
- You must let us know if you suspect someone else is using your account
You can delete your account at any time. See our Privacy Notice for details on what happens to your data.
4. Your Content (Reviews, Photos)
Content licence — what you're agreeing to
You own your content. Your reviews, photos, and other contributions remain yours.
You give TrustWatt a licence to use your content. This licence is:
- Non-exclusive — You can share your content elsewhere too
- Worldwide — We operate globally online
- Royalty-free — We don't pay you for displaying it
- Transferable — We can use service providers to host and process it
What this licence covers:
- Displaying your reviews on TrustWatt (website, app, partner widgets)
- Including review snippets in TrustWatt marketing (social media posts, ads, emails)
- Aggregating and analysing reviews for insights (anonymised where shared with partners)
- Technical operations: hosting, backup, caching, reformatting for different devices
What we won't do:
- Sell your individual reviews to third parties
- Use your photos in unrelated advertising without asking
- Claim we own your content
You can remove your content at any time through your account settings. Once removed, we'll stop displaying it (though cached copies may take time to clear, and we may retain backups for legal purposes).
By posting content, you confirm:
- You have the right to share it (it's yours, or you have permission)
- It doesn't break our Community Guidelines
- It doesn't infringe anyone else's rights (copyright, privacy, etc.)
5. Acceptable Use
When using TrustWatt, you must not:
- Post fake reviews or mislead other users
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Attempt to access accounts or systems without authorisation
- Use the platform for spam or commercial promotion
- Scrape or collect data without permission

6. Moderation
We may:
- Review content before or after it's published
- Remove or hide content that breaks our guidelines
- Restrict features or suspend accounts for serious or repeated breaches
- Report illegal content to authorities

7. Third-Party Links and Partners
TrustWatt may link to third-party websites or connect you with partner businesses (installers, manufacturers, leasing companies).
- We don't control third-party sites and aren't responsible for their content
- When you request a quote or share details with a partner, they become responsible for how they use your information
- Any contract for products or services is between you and the partner, not TrustWatt

Reviews are opinions
Content on TrustWatt reflects individual experiences. We don't verify every claim and don't guarantee accuracy. A 5-star review from one driver doesn't mean you'll have the same experience.
Not professional advice
TrustWatt doesn't provide electrical, financial, legal, or other professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals before making decisions about EV purchases, charger installations, or electrical work.
TrustWatt is an introducer
When you request quotes or connect with partners, we're introducing you to them. We don't:
- Guarantee partner availability, pricing, or quality
- Take responsibility for their work or products
- Provide warranties on installations or purchases
- Guarantee you'll receive quotes or responses
No guarantees
We provide TrustWatt "as is" and can't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or meet your specific needs.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent allowed by law:
- We're not liable for decisions you make based on reviews or information on TrustWatt
- We're not liable for the actions, products, or services of third-party partners
- We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't be excluded by law.
10. Ending Your Account
You can leave anytime. Delete your account in your settings or contact us.
We may end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, with reasonable notice where possible.
When your account ends, your reviews may remain visible (anonymised) unless you ask us to remove them.
11. Changes and Versioning
How we handle changes to these terms:

- • For minor changes (clarifications, typos): We'll update the page
- • For significant changes (your rights, our obligations, liability): We'll notify you by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect

Continuing to use TrustWatt after changes means you accept the updated terms.
